No college required

I’m not feeling all the unicorns and rainbows today, but I wanted to get on here and share, because, well, that’s what I want to do.

Starting this business gets mind numbing sometimes…but that’s the beauty of me starting it… I can take a day, or two off, and still run my business.

In the beginning I said I was going to share all of the details.. so I am.

Today is a blah day, but I can still update my socials, and reach out to all of you.

What do you need for your startup online business? I know a college degree isn’t needed, because I’ve used a big fat zero of ANY of the classes that I took.

(I’m not promoting to stop going to college, so don’t get your panties in a bunch.)

Nothing that I did in college has transferred to what I’m doing now. Crazy, right?

If you wan to chat more one on one, send me an email, I’ll put the link right here.

Hope ya’ll have a great Wednesday.

Peace✌️

Not making sales??

If you sell products, courses or mentorships.. really anything, and you are in a slump, or just getting started, here are a few reasons why you aren’t/can create getting leads/sales.

**You aren’t providing them with YOUR understanding of their
problems, needs, wants.

**You aren’t giving them value based information, based on their
problems, needs, wants.

**You aren’t giving them the SOLUTION to their problem, wants, or
needs.

You have to be able to do these three things, and be able to
customize what you have to offer, to your client/customers needs.
If you are going to do business, you have to have people who want
what you have to offer.

You gotta do some research, whether you are an affiliate marketer,
mentor, or push out your content via a blog, or website.

Shush with all the ”you can make xx dollars in.…”

I see 👏Every. 👏Single.👏 Day. on my socials about how much money a person can make. The simple fact is most people that start an online business fail, because they have no community, no mentor, and have fallen for the “hook”, but have not been given the information, and then given the solution to their problem. So they get frustrated, and then give up.

This is a “takes a village” type business, you need your people.

Let me say that, you can completely create a seven figure, or more doing this business. But if you do a deep five into those peoples business, you’ll find mentors, partners, and a community working together. (I’m currently searching my my people, when I get ready to launch.)

But STOP TALKNG ABOUT INCOME CLAIMS, for the love of milk and honey. Jeeze. It begins to come off and scammy, and impersonal. If you want to build a successful business, you have to nurture relationships with people, they have to trust you.

Stop focusing on MONEY. Start focusing on what you can provide for other people. Start focusing on what YOU can give them, so they can become successful.

Because when your clients are successful, you will be successful, guaranteed.

I love my pets, usually more than people. They give you unconditional love and loyalty, and forgive our mistakes and arrogance. How do you show your love to your pet?

I’m always looking for new gadgets, and cool things to enhance Zoey, Simba and Sadie’s life. This site, has some really cool, top of the line… like a wifi compatible fountain waterer and feeders, sturdy cleanable cat trees, cloud waterers… totally cool stuff guys! I’m ordering a fountain, pronto!

Fiverr, Upwork, Legiit and Contra

I created gigs on all four of these platforms a couple weeks ago, or whenever it was.. lol….

So far, my seo sucks, and I’m not ranking well… so I’m working on that. Also, on Fiverr, the requests I’ve gotten thus far, are ”people” trying to get me to work with them off of the app, or trying to get me to do things that are outside the parameters of my gig….one even went as far as to harass me because I wouldn’t sign up and pretend to be her, in a landlord management app. WTF.. (Please report these or mark them as spam).

You only get paid within the Fiverr app, and all communications need to stay within the app.

I am currently working on a proposal for a potential client on Upwork.. I’ll update how that works out. So far, the people I’ve talked to seem to be real and legit. More to come.

Please keep in mind when you start something, from scratch, and learning EVERYTHING from scratch, there is going to be a curve.

If you are like me, and have a few things you do within your business, please remember to give yourself some grace.

Building a business takes time, and work. The key is to just not give up. I have made sales.. so that’s a bonus. lol….

As always, if you have any questions, please reach out. I’m sharing this because we all know now that you don’t need to go to a 9-5, to make money to support yourself and your family.

Peace

You don’t always get approved

When you apply for affiliate partnerships, you have to first do some research on the product.

Then you have to find the affiliate partner program that that product uses. Usually then you have to create an account with that partner.

THEN you can search for your product. (In my case natural soaps… I’m still doing research on that for a blog post.) Ok, so you find your product, then most of the times you need to apply.. although some programs have an instant approval.

After you apply… you wait… and wait. Sometimes at least a week, or two. They send you an email tell you if you have been approved or denied. They’ll check out your website to see if they ”like” it.

Sometimes, you aren’t who they want, and they reject you. If you have any type of controversial topics, or products on your site, they may deny you. (This happened to me, and I made the page private, reapplied, and was approved.)

My point is, there’s so much more to affiliate marketing. You just don’t ”get a link and put it on a page”.

Also, sometimes different products are in different programs, so if you are creating a listacle, you’ll have to get accounts with each one. It takes time, if you want to promote more than one thing. So be patient, and be prepared to put in the work.

(In my course I’ll be showing you how to create those links from start to finish. )

Anywho, here’s a little ditbit I wanted to clarify, because I see so many vidoes that are misleading.

Refer a friend to the best, in my opinion, place to start your online business.

I like WordPress. There are other ways, but so far I’m able to do anything and everything from here.

But, with that being said, if you and I work together one on one, you can choose whatever platform you want. I’ll always share what’s worked for me, but the final decision will be up to you, because you’ll be running your business.

Who do you want?

You’ve decided to start an online business. Cool!

So how are you going to get people to want to do business with you? What kind of people do you want to attract?

You want to attract your tribe, people that you vibe with. In my opinion.

I mean, if you just want to sell stuff through affiliate links, that’s totally possible as well…I know a lot of people that do that. Sell products. I have a couple of links here on my site, for products that I personally use. Here they are, if you are wondering.

Fragrance net dot com—all things that smell good

Systeme.io—has a free option for building funnels, and auto responders

Aweber—has a free option for a landing page and auto responder

WordPress—best place ever, in my opintion, to get your domain, host, eCommerce, blog..basically your everything place for it all. It has seo built in..the whole nine yards.

Elementor—this is an amazing editing program to build out your site.

Anyway… as I was saying… you want to build your business with integrity and honesty. At least that’s the way I want to do it. I don’t want some kind of cheese balls, and scammy stuff. I want to show you what works.

So…..I am creating a course. Yes, you will have to pay for it, and there will be an upsell.. but I can guarantee you in the beginning it’s not going to cost you a kidney to start. I will offer one on one coaching, with a GUARANTEE that if you are teachable, and willing to learn, you will be making money.

This process is a proven business model, and it works.

It’s got a money back guarantee, so what’s not to love about that?

Right on…

Peace

Where I’m at right now.

close up shot of a typewriter

I’ve shared that I started a business at the beginning of the year.

At first I thought I was just going to do affiliated marketing, I took the “$7 course”, and got an insight as to how the process works. I did get very frustrated because 4 or 5 days in, I quickly realized that to get “more training”, I would have to buy a $2500 upsell.

Well, that wasn’t going to work. I started this business because I had no extra money, and was going to get myself out from under the thumb of the government. (I am allotted $976 to live off of from SSDI). I didn’t have an extra twenty five hundred laying around.

I finished the course, and then started doing some research. Found a couple of legit people on YT and learned how to build a funnel. Yes, there were affiliate links within the tutorial, but I didn’t feel like I was being scammed or had some sales-y crap being pushed on me.

Did a bunch more research on what kind of tone I wanted with my business, and how it was going to work. I realized again, that I saw a lot of how I DIDN’T want to run my business.

Got in touch with a great guy who gave me a lot of insight, and whenever I have more technical quesitons, I can ask him and he’s always helpful. Kept posting content, but things seemed to be pivoting. I was getting a lot of questions as to the hows and whys and small details about more of the backend issues.

I tried and failed, then tried again over and over until I figured out the hickups that I was experiencing on my own site… techy things like code and head and footer, and where to put it. That was a pain in my butt, BUT, I learned a lot.

Then again, I pivoted…got in touch with an awesome mentor who offered me her knowledge. I instantly got more insight on how I want my business to be.

I want to always share authentic things, that mean something to me, I want to give no BS information about the ins and outs of affiliate marketing. Because from what I’ve seen, there’s a lot of misinformation out there. I’ll get into that in a later post, it’s long and detailed.

So, I’m now transitioning into how I can teach people what I’ve learned. The hustles that work, and what I have actually done. I’m now in the beginning stages of creating my own course. Still have no idea how that works 😂 but that’s part of the journey.

I do a lot, and found out that there’s more than one way to make money online… and if a person can show/teach more than a single option, then that’s better, in my opinion.

Moving forward…

Peace,

Shassy

Here is an example of a way to promote yourself on Legiit. You can taylor it however you want within your own parameters. People will pay you to write for them, because they have other things to do. It’s a great way to do what you love and get paid for it!

Legiit is similar to Fiverr. I have projects on both places. CLICK HERE to navigate to my service page, and sign up for your own.

CLICK HERE to see another service I offer on this platform.

Freelance is the way to go. People are learning that they can make a large income with working online, and creating your own business solutions for others.

There is no income cap either, you make as much or as little as you want.

Peace
