UPDATE: Medicinal Mushroom Hot Chocolate, here’s what I’ve learned.

Medicinal Mushroom Hot Chocolate…10/10 delish

Update: I have been mixing this into my morning protein shake. If it’s warmer out, I don’t want something hot.

Then I did an experiment on myself…as I occasionally do, I “test” my body, so I can note how things may or may not change after trying a new product. I did that test with this product.

I quit taking it for approximately two weeks, to see how I felt. (If you follow me you know that I have autoimmune disease, and mental health diagnoses.).

What I noticed after about 4 days without this product:

  • Increased body pain, specifically in my joints.
  • Increased anxiety
  • Bowel “differences”… I’ll just leave it at that.. I think you get the drift…(lets just say it was worse, and not consistent.)
  • Increased mental fog
  • Increased depression

These are just my experiences. But it’s convinced me that natural plants and products DO help me.

Pain is a life killer for me. So if I can get relief the natural way, and not have to turn to my pharma, you can bet your booty I will.

Medicinal mushroom

I ordered the Medicinal Mushroom Hot Chocolate mix from my favorite store, The Humble Collective CBD. Mixed it up and tried it for the first time this morning. All I can say is yummy! I did add raw sugar and my collagen supplement, which is flavorless. (It can be added to anything, soup, drinks, prepared food.. whatever you want.).

So I surprised Ricky Raccoon last night, for the second time. 🤣

I was walking into the kitchen, and saw Mr R. through the sliding glass door. I went back to get my phone and snuck into the kitchen to the window and got this.

Let me preface this by saying I put up all the bulk cat food we feed at night. But there always some little tidbits that he/she thinks he/she needs.

It was just a funny look on he/she’s face when she realized I was watching her through the kitchen window.

They KNOW that they aren’t supposed to be there, but food over rules everything.

This is one of two products I’ll be talking about over the next two days.

I’m attempting to NOT go into aging gracefully, but with the least amount of wrinkles and skin damage as possible. I was a sun queen when I was younger, and I do get a lot of sun during the summer at the ranch doing yard work, and stuff like that. But I can’t be without my Humble skincare. Yes, I’ve tried other products, on purpose, to see how my skin reacts, and it just feels better when I use all natural, additive free products. Maybe it just me, but I don’t think so. These products are good.

So let’s get into it. The Let It Glow serum is filled with everything your skin wants and needs for nourishment, and cell regeneration.

Ingredients are: organic grapeseed oil, organic camellia seed oil, organic sunflower and olive oil infused with (all organic herbs) of: comfrey, nettle, chickweed, chamomile, lavender, yarrow, calendula and arnica, organic argan oil, roman chamomile and frankincense essential oils, CBD isolate, CBG isolate.

That’s it! Not words you can’t pronounce, not water, and all GOODNESS for your face.

Y’all know I love my Humble Collective products. So I wanted to share the product of the week with you… albeit a couple days late… but better late than never, right?

This is a great product, no additives, all natural, hemp based product for your pets. (I give my pets their product.). It’s vegan and organic.

The ingredients are organic MCT coconut oil, and full spectrum hemp extract. That’s it! No fillers, additives or any other junk you don’t want for your pets.

Speaking of junk, have you ever looked at the ingredients in your dog food? No? Well, if you have a dog, go check out the ingredient list, and tell me how many words you understand, and if you would eat it. My theory, after going through a rocky past two months with Zoey developing serious allergies, is that if I won’t eat it, then I’m not going to feed it to my girl. Yes, I know that dogs are different, but don’t you wonder why some dogs develop allergies? Get sick?

I’ve learned a lot in the last couple of months about stuff like that. Sure, if Zoey was in the wild, she’d be eating whatever she could catch, but she’s not, she’s domesticated and relies on me to do right by her.

During the onset of the problems, she started vomiting…. Like projectile vomiting. Dogs and cats throw up, we all know this. But this was different, I could tell. So I rushed her to the vet, he checked her over and we did a round of antibiotics, just in case, some zofran, and a dewormer. She didn’t have worms, I watched diligently. But the problem didn’t stop. It slowed down for a short time, but if I didn’t give her a zofran, she would be sick. She was showing classic signs of allergy…eyes, nose, lips and tummy were red and swollen. These symptoms went away when I gave her a Benadryl.

I hadn’t changed her food, and wasn’t feeding a cheap dog food. One night she was laying on the bed, and her heart was beating so hard, it was shaking my bed. I knew there was something going on, and it was causing her cardiac distress.

So I talked with a friend, and did a 24 hour fast, and started adding in one food at a time to see how she would react. Long story, not as long…she was allergic to chicken, anything chicken related, eggs, salmon, anything with wheat and oats. I gave her some scrambled egg mixed with pumpkin, and after about an hour, she threw up JUST the egg… no pumpkin, and showed signs off allergy in her face again. Same thing happened with chicken, bread, oatmeal….all things she could eat before on a limited basis. (Think giving your dog a snack of what you are eating… not a lot).

So basically, now I make her food. She does ok with organic grass fed hamburger, cooked with veggies. But if she gets into something at the ranch that she’s not supposed to, like all dogs do, she will throw it up. There’s different information out there about dogs eating legumes, and peas. So if you choose to make your dogs good, you’ll have to decide what you want to do there. Zoey eats peas and beans that I have cooked mixed in with her veggies. Garbanzo beans, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, sweet potatoes. She does well on them.

When we started getting to the end of these last couple of months, I notice she looked like she was losing weight, but it was really fluid. She was retaining fluid like crazy, which is what caused me to notice her heart beating so hard.

I’ve also noticed her urination is much better. It was a close call in my opinion. I’m hoping there wasn’t any damage done, and that there’s no other issues. Her vet ran bloodwork, and said that it was all good, and there was no evidence of disease halfway through this ordeal. I wanted her checked just in case before I started figuring out what kinds of foods she could eat.

The dog food that I was feeding is a good brand and showed 4 stars on Dogfoodadviser. (Click the underlined words to check your dog food and see how it rates.) But the list of ingredients still included fillers and words I couldn’t pronounce.

Anyway, back to Humble Collective Pet CBD. You don’t have to worry about any of the additives or words you can’t describe. This is rosin pressed….think of how olive oil is produced. They take the hemp plant and place in a powerful press, with a little heat, and it literally squeezes out all of the goodies. When I say I’ve tried a lot of face products, I ain’t kiddin’… But the Facial Serum, and the Blue Dream cream, is a game changer. I am outside year round taking care of animals, and absolutely can’t stand it if my face feels dry. The serum alone does the trick, but holy guacamole..adding in the Blue dream cream was the cherry on top.

I got my shipment in today and I am so glad.

Consider plant medicine. It is so much better for our bodies. We already have an endocannabinoid system built it, so our bodies are wired to work with these plants. Why do you think our government has owned the patent on cannabinoids working as protectants? DUH… they don’t want us to heal ourselves, they want to sell us drugs made synthetically, and overcharge insurance companies, and benefit the pharmaceutical companies. Sorry, not sorry…but it’s true.

This post is not to dish on pharma….there have been many many good things come from pharma…like my statin. I tried to adjust my diet and lower cholesterol, but couldn’t, so I take a statin. I don’t feel that EVERY SINGLE drug out there is bad….I just don’t like the monopoly that seems to go on at times. So don’t give me the side eye. There are good meds, I just haven’t had a good track record with taking them.

So, there you have it. Plants are where it’s at, in most cases. Most of our medications originated from plants… so I mean…🤷🏻‍♀️. Why can’t we continue to heal ourselves that way.
