Here’s a Story

I remember holding you when you were a baby,  less than a year old,  and you were crying for a little bit. I was sitting in the chair with the wooden frame in the house on Fisher street.You did that every once in a while to let frustration out. Then you would stop and be fine.  Then I was crying because I knew that your dad and I weren’t going to be together,  I was sobbing, out of my mind with pain for you,  apologizing to my little baby girl in my arms for not being able to give her a mommy and daddy who love each other and who were able to stay together.   I remember and feel that pain right now, just like it was yesterday.
